Book recommendation – 365 Awesome Story Prompts

“365 Awesome Story Prompts”

154 pag, ebook

Available on various online stores

I received a free copy of this book from the author, in exchange for a honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially that it came in the perfect timing, just before Camp NaNoWriMo. As a Municipal Liaison, I should have been an example and not get stuck in writing, so it was Godsent. I will also use its prompts as inspiration for short stories in future contests.

The prompts are sorted in story starters (broken down on literary genres), story savers (answers to „Help, I’m stuck!” as in providing character and setting inspiration) and useful advice from the author, including even a FAQ. Writing-related quotes are sprinkled sparingly, giving a lovely flavour to the volume.

I wholeheartedly recommend it to beginner writers (maybe to advanced ones too, just that I am not as presumptuous to suggest they get stuck and need prompts to help), to NaNoWriMo participants and especially to the Municipal Liaisons when running writing sprints, to teachers and students of creative writing classes.
